registry monitor pictureThe directory that stores all your settings and options for windows is called the WindowsRegistry. It contains all the settings and information for the operating system, your software andall the hardware on the computer. It also saves data from each user including preferences and settings.

Any time changes are made by a user to any part of the computer it is stored in teh registry. The registry is also used to monitor the functions of the computer such as the kernal operations as well as runtime information.

No matter how careful you are when using your computer the registry can become corrupted with errors. Any computer running windows is going to accumulate registry errors over time. It happens when you install and uninstall programs or it can be caused by faulty or unused drivers on your hardware profile.

Does my computer have errors?
Most likely yes. In fact if you have used your computer at all then it most likely does. The best way to find out for sure and to see how many there are is to do a free scan. This will scan your computer and show you how many errors there are.

What do registry Errors do?
They slow down your computer and can cause programs to crash or not respond.
Most people that clean up their registry notice a significant difference in PC performance and speed, even people that dont think there is anything wrong with their computer.

Over 87% of computers are infected with some kind of adware and spyware. These softwares, even when uninstalled can leave behind invalid registry entries and missing file locations. Even if you have a good anti-spyware or anti-virus program on your computer you may still have invalid or missing entries in your registry from these malicious programs. Anti-virus and anti-spyware tools mostly focus on disabling the program but they do not specialize in cleanup. Often traces of the bad programs can stay on your computer even after deleting or uninstalling a program.
